I’m fairly new to the adsense topic yet found nothing new; It felt like a rehash of other people’s writings and posts. Lots of stream of conscious writing and general lack of organization. There were quite a few typos, several repeated sections, and the book seemed printed in a "one-off" style (print as purchased). Although it did cover the standard fare, unless this is the only access you have to adsense information, save your time and save your money. I might give it 2 stars but there needs to be some truthful balance to the previous 5-star ratings.

The prospects for WiMAX technology as a viable business opportunity are often the subject of debate amidst numerous actual or perceived challenges. Applying these innovative insights can make these arguments and challenges disappear.

Unlike most people’s expectation of rural deployments, you might consider targeting SME’s in urban areas. There are several reasons for this:

There is a growing demand in business for bandwidth capable of carrying symmetrical traffic, for voice, applications and uploading of larger files.

There is a small but growing need for separated last mile services. Currently, however many wired service providers you have, they all use the incumbents’ last mile infrastructure based on its nearest telephone exchange location unless you have paid for an expensive dig from the next nearest exchange. This leads to single points of failure and the potential for business communications to be down for days, as can happen say with a cable duct fire somewhere in the spoke.

Your worst case environment would be a very high-density urban area with lots of interfering buildings, has multiple fibre networks, ADSL and SDSL in every exchange, hundreds of competing suppliers, a restrictive property planning regime with many ‘listed’ buildings, and no spare spectrum for FWA except the public 5.8GHz band.

To do this, because of the scale of competition from other service providers, your model needs to be disruptive. It has to offer things that businesses need (like QoS, toll-quality VoIP, high-quality video, symmetric bandwidth, higher capacities and network separation etc) at a lower cost.

This means stripping all unnecessary cost out of the model. You’ll benefit from a quality RF planning tool that gives you a major advantage over other operators - mapping exactly where you can provide service, how to set up the customer antenna, what bandwidth can be achieved etc, based on your base-stations. You need to know exactly how to tune base-stations to avoid blackspots - without needing an RF team.

Although Wi-Fi and WiMAX often get confused, they are very different from an operators perspective. Wi-Fi is plug and play with no control over the wireless interface. WiMAX is not, it behaves more like a carrier ATM network. Wi-Fi is built into laptops and handsets, whereas FWA WiMAX requires larger standalone receivers (yours should mount on customer rooftops for optimum utilty).

The benefit is that WiMAX is very spectrally efficient, at least 50% more so than 3G networks, so it has much higher data-carrying capabilities in limited spectrum. All Wi-Fi shares the same public spectrum - WiMAX can work across a wide range. Wi-Fi provides service over a range of 100m, your WiMAX needs to provide 10Mbps over a range of 1.3km from a base-station non-line-of sight.

WiMAX can create carrier-class networks, Wi-Fi cannot not even with mesh networks. However, Wi-Fi with WiMAX backhaul gets some of the benefits of WiMAX as the backhaul such as VPNs. A lot of WiMAX customer equipment will come with Wi-Fi built in.

Dont wait for mobile (802.16e) WiMAX your experience with vendors may be that they’re around fourteen months to two years behind on their promised delivery dates, and further delays could occur to key requirements. Dont expect good enough 802.16e equipment to build a network with until late 2007 at the earliest, and no usable CPE until 2008 as its mobile battery life is crucial and that will take time to get right.

There are big enough markets for FWA now. The most important thing is to grab the scarce resources first spectrum etc and make them yours. Except in those undeveloped countries without a mobile operator, mobile WiMAX will be very difficult to establish against incumbent operators with large installed bases because the areas covered are important to customers which is not a consideration for FWA.

Review date : 2007-06-17
At over 200 pages you’ll be surprised how little is really in this book.

Review date : 2006-09-07
What would you like to know about AdSense? You name it, "AdSense Unleashed" has it! The depth of AdSense knowledge this book offers is unmatched on the market. No matter what your level of experience is with AdSense, this book is sure to meet your expectations. Looking to generate more cash, maximize more clicks, or learn more tips & tricks? Time is money, and with "AdSense Unleashed" you will not be wasting either!

Review date : 2006-07-24
Another great piece to the puzzle in the Google ad sense world. For those of you who have ever used Google adsense, you’ve probably been frustrated and annoyed and possibly confused about inner workings of their world. One of the few pieces of information that actually cuts through and tells you exactly what to do, this is a great book to teach you how to make money using Google adsense. While many pieces of advice give you more questions and never answer the original one this book gives you the real deal.

Product Description

When it comes to advertising on the web, you just can’t argue with the numbers. A $7 billion market today is expected to grow to $18.9 billion by 2010. Jupiter Research also estimates that search advertising will be a larger share of the market than display advertising by 2010. These phenomenal numbers are due largely to Google, which has changed the way the world publishes content - and advertises.

Google Advertising Tools from O’Reilly examines the business and technology behind making money with content and advertising on the web. This focused, easy-to-read guide shows you how to use Google’s advertising services to make it happen. You’ll find all the background information you need to work with Google AdSense, which automatically delivers text and image ads that are precisely targeted to your site, and Google AdWords, which lets you generate text ads that accompany specific search term results.

This book has specific and detailed sections on:

Turning your web site into a profit center with AdSense

Making sense of AdSense metrics

Driving traffic to your site

Optimizing sites for search engine placement

Working with AdWords campaigns, auctions, and reports

Managing campaigns dynamically using the AdWords APIs

Once you’ve read all four parts, you’ll have a comprehensive picture of how advertising works on the web and how you can use the Google advertising programs to your advantage.

Customer Reviews

Review date : 2008-06-05
I was already doing my own Google advertising when I got this book thinking that I will learn a quite a bit of new things from this book. Not so. If you took the time to read Google’s own information and FAQ, you would have understood 90% or more of the stuff. I found the screen shots in the book particularly annoying, the prints are so small and are printed in very light colored ink that they are unreadable. You can’t read this book without being in front of your computer to follow along each screen to make sense.

Review date : 2007-10-19
Like most of the O’Reilly books, this is very well written and a really good resource for tips and hints. It is not as good for a beginner, but is good for people that need a good resource to go to the next level.

Review date : 2007-07-15
It is estimated that Google ads reach 80% of all Internet users. No other advertising system or promotional scheme (including spam campaigns) can boast such coverage. Cashing in on Google ads either as an advertiser through AdWords or by getting paid by the click for hosting Google ads through Adsense is a pretty quick and simple process.

Google Advertising Tools is meant for the beginner advertiser or new website owner who would like to make a little extra money through hosting Google ads. This book takes the reader through the whats, the whys, the hows, and the wheres of these options. Much of the more complicated parts of these processes are even detailed step by step complete with illustrations of what the reader will see at the website. I do suggest this book to those new to Google ads. However, I also think that those already participating in these programs with find a few helpful hints and tips, particularly in the optimizing sections.

Review date : 2007-01-10
This book was OK, I mean it has some good information but you can find most of it online so it is more of a resource book instead of a book having especially valuable information.

Im glad I bought it cause I now have a resource book on the shelf and dont have to search online and I often have limited time.

If you have the time to research online then do that, otherwise by this book.

Review date : 2007-01-06
if you are interested on how search engines work this a book you can start

GOT VIRUS? Your Data is NOT lost forever!

In the wake of so many computer viruses running wild, Hope is not lost!

With the recent release of such viruses as: mydoom; netsky; mofei, lovegate and many more destructive viruses, there is an affordable solution to recover your lost files from your hard drive.

Selecting a Data Recovery Service Company can be a challenging and confusing undertaking to say the least.

ECO Data Recovery located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida has come to the rescue of many individuals, small business and large corporations around the world. When down time means lost revenue and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel, you can always count on ECO Data Recovery to get you up and operating asap.

These days you never know when your computer system will go down due to viruses, sabotage or natural disaster. We suggest that everyone back-up their files regularly. Nobody ever wants to think about their hard drive crashing or a virus taking over their computer, so backing up your files is the last thing on your mind.

Often time is of the essence. We know that when your business is down, fast is never fast enough, therefore, ECO offers an expedited service for time sensitive situations.

As technology advances, so do the skills of what we refer to as Hackers. These Hackers are responsible for many of the damaged files we have recovered. As the Hackers skills evolve, so must our teams of engineers. We understand that there will always be some hacker out there with the goal of causing chaos. Eco Data Recovery will be there to undo the damage they may have done and get you up and running in the fastest time possible.

Viruses are not the only cause of lost files!

When a hard drive is making an awful noise, more often then not you have a hardware problem. ECO Chief Engineer, Sean Flanders, warns If you hear strange noises emanating from your computer, shut it off immediately before further damage is incurred.

When a drive is still grasping to life (barely spinning) many times people try the cheapest solution and attempt to run a data recovery software utility. This is a major mistake! Attempting to utilize recovery software can make your data hard to salvage if not impossible in some cases. These programs may write data on the drive which then overwrites your original data, making data recovery almost impossible, states Brian Cain, VP of sales at ECO.

Take heed in the words of Charles Roover, President of Eco Data Recovery, Be aware of the fate that could befall your computer and/or network and take precautions. Back-up your files often! Nobody likes to think about losing their data, however, when you have a disaster, were there to rescue you!

Over the past 10 years ECO Data Recovery has saved many individuals and companies by retrieving their lost data! Were only a phone call away!

Enterprise resource planning is a business management system that integrates all facets of the business, including planning, manufacturing, sales and marketing. All functional departments that are involved in operations or production are integrated in one system.

Since ERP packages are not designed to support customization, most businesses implement the best practices embedded in the acquired ERP system. Customizing an ERP package can be very expensive and complicated. The move to ERP is a project of breathtaking scope, and the selection of software is of critical importance. ERP software installation has many variables such as, the number of divisions it will serve, the number of modules installed, the amount of integration that will be required with existing systems, the readiness of the company to change and the ambition of the project.

The software selection is based on the processes in the concerned organization. As such, the functionality should be well defined. In case of a manufacturing unit, the core business would obviously be manufacturing, and software that is specific to such an organization should be chosen. The software that is designed for discrete manufacturing may not suit process manufacturing.

Some ERP packages are very generic in their reports and inquiries, and customization is expected in every implementation. In such cases, third party reporting packages that interface well to particular ERP should be purchased. Companies also have a choice of web-based ERP systems that require no client side installation and are cross-platform and centrally maintained. These systems can be accessed through web browsers.

The ERP software attempts to integrate all departments and functions across a company onto a single computer system. This integrated approach can have a tremendous payback if companies install the software correctly.
